Think big thoughts, but relish small pleasures

- H. Jackson Brown Jr.

Connie Standifer, a native of Gainesville, Florida, now resides between Deltona, Florida, and Atlanta, Georgia, with her husband of thirteen years, Eddie M. Standifer. A graduate of Eastside High School in Gainesville, Florida, she also holds a bachelor of science in psychology from Bethune Cookman University and a master’s degree in organization management from the University of Phoenix.

She is the mother of five children, five grandchildren, and one Godson. She has two siblings. She has a fluffy four-legged friend with angel wings for life named Bentley. Reading and writing became apart of her life at a young age. She grew exceptionally fond of writing and demonstrating a gift of poetically putting words on paper that capture the hearts and minds of all who read her works.

Occasionally she would write poems for obituaries honoring passed loved ones. She has written several articles for her employer as well as the quarterly newsletter for a national nonprofit organization of which she held the office of President, but never imagined writing her own book. The  author's craft of writing was sharpened during her pursuit of her undergraduate degree by her college Academic Advisory, Dr. Yvonne Mahy. Her love of writing continued through the pursuit of her graduate degree. Connie's hard work and dedication to writing is on display in When the Bough Breaks.  This is her debut as an author. There is more to come from this author just over the horizon. Stay tuned.
